Professor John Gascoigne presented a spirited address on the Enlightenment and Laperouse at the Museum this week. Guests at the lecture included the Governor of NSW, H.E. General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d) and Mrs Linda Hurley, Mrs Gascoigne, the French Consul-General, Nicolas Croizer, the Mayor of Randwick, Councillor Noel D’Souza, Professor Robert Clancy and Mrs Christine Clancy, Professor Margaret Sankey, Professor Graham MacDonald and Dr Pamela MacDonald, Councillor Leon Goltsman, Waverley Council, and representatives from Thales.
